Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

I've tried to provide answers to many of the questions I get asked.

If you have any questions about my website design services don't hesitate to get in touch.

Questions about Website Design by Gammon's Take

Just send me an email, message or give me a call, and when we chat you can let me know about the type of website you want.  I'll give you an idea of the cost, the time it will take and the next steps.  I've written a Time-Line to give you an idea of the web design process which can be found here.

I can save you money on your website without you having to compromise on quality.

My prices are incredibly reasonable and very competitive.   That's why I don't mind being open and honest about them unlike some website design companies.  For £300 you can get my very quick and simple Special Offer website, otherwise my charges are generally £400 up to £800 or more, depending on the size and complexity of your website project.  Before I start work on your website you will know exactly what you are going to be charged.    I've tried to provide more information on my pricing page

This depends on how busy I am, the client deadlines I have to meet, and the size of the website for your business.  It could be as little as 2 days for the simplest website like my special offer one where you provide all the content at once, or it could take several weeks. I've written a web design Time-Line to give you an idea of my website design process.  We can discuss this and agree start dates and deadlines when we have a chat

Not very much if you choose Gammon's Take for your website design.

You will need to think about what you would like your website to do for your business.  We will work together with you providing the information you would like to include, and me structuring that content in the best way for search engine optimisation.  You can let me have images you would like to use, or I can organise photos or images for you.  You will have to proof and check the draft website I create to check you are happy with it before it goes live.

I've created a time-line so you can see the steps taken to create your website. It will give you an idea of what is necessary and how long the process should take. Click here to view the web design time-line.

How much work the website takes going forward is up to you.  Perhaps you want to make updates your website yourself, or I can do that for you.  We can chat about what will work best for you.

  • It will create a good impression of your business.

  • It will help customers to find you and help you to find new customers.

  • It will make it easier for your existing happy customers to refer others to you.

  • It will convince potential customers of your professionalism.
  •
  • It will help you compete with your competitors and the right website will make you stand out and become the preferred choice.
  •
  • It will save you time and money by answering your customers' questions so you don't have to reply to their enquiries by phone and email.

  • It will make life easier for your potential customers

But you don't need me to list the benefits. Just think about the convenience and speed when you use the internet to find businesses, services, products, etc.

I am based between Taunton and Bridgwater, in Sedgemoor, Somerset, in the South West of England.  Most of my websites clients are in Somerset, Devon or Dorset.  I am happy to work with businesses further afield, both across the UK and even internationally, and this has become easier with phone calls, emails and the recent rise in popularity of virtual meetings.

I have lots of experience and lots of happy customers but don't take my word for it.  Please visit My Clients page to see some of the previous work I have undertaken and comments, testimonials and reviews from my past clients.

If you would like further reassurance I am happy to put you in touch with any of my previous clients for a reference.

Generally YES!  I am delighted to work with all types of businesses and love learning about new industries and trades that I haven't worked with before.   There are a few exceptions:

  • I do not design ecommerce sites as I cannot provide 24 hour support

  • I sometimes say no to work for ethical reasons

  • I sometimes have to say no to work if I am too busy and taking on more work would impact the service I give to my existing clients.

  • I will not work with people who are rude or abusive*.  I prefer working with nice, friendly people. Have a look at my wonderful clients.

  • *I have yet to have had this problem I am happy to say!

1. Ask me in person. It's a long story.

2. Someone gave me a Sloth soft toy as a gift. It is very smiley. I admit that I talk to it when home alone. Is that wrong?!!!!
